Raffles Marina, 5 August, 2016 was the first day of shooting. The [purpose was simply to film some footage for a teaser video promoting the Rowing from Home to Home expedition. It was a Friday afternoon. The next morning Grant and Charlie had a training row planned. They would row around the island of Singapore. But what it really became was the beginning of a 4-year project to document the whole extraordinary, so-big-it-might-just-fail undertaking.

For the next few months we would return again and again to this oversized boat locker on teh far-western shore of Singapore (with views to Malaysia) to film the boat being painted, teh boat being fitted with new equipment, the boat being plastered with stickers, the boat having  its water-maker installed etc.... the list went on and on.
