Well, it's been a real privilege, honour, rush and all-round brilliant experience (along with every other superlative you can think of) over the last few weeks as we premiered The Sea Decides at the Doc Edge Film Festival in Auckland and Wellington , New Zealand.
In Auckland, we kicked off the mini-tour at Gusto's Bar and Restaurant where friends and family gathered for dinner before the film, then we all trooped up to the Sky City Theatre where an audience of about 300-400 people showed up to witness the world premiere of the film.
It was a brilliant night which included red-carpet appearances from Grant Rawlinson himself who had flown all the way from Singapore to be there, as well as Shaun Quincey and Scott Donaldson as well. And we couldn't have been more proud of how the film was received.
So then it was on to Wellington for the second screening, for which we achieved our goal of filling up the marvellous Roxy Cinema. If the Sky City theatre was the epitome of big-city-glitz, The Roxy is all silver-screen tradition and is one of those classic cinemas that you dream of filling up, and we're proud to say that's exactly what we did!
A big thank you to everyone who came along to Auckland and Wellington and who has shown so much love and support for the film!
Watch this space, because now we're on to phase two – to see if we can get into some international festivals!
